Visit downtown businesses for great deals on gifts, enjoy a ride on a horse-drawn carriage or visit with Santa in the Community of Trees inside Avery Square! Photos with Santa will be available.
Schedule of Actitvites
10am – Downtown Shopping – Grab those last minute gifts and treats form downtown retailers, salons, boutiques and restaurants. Pick up a Christmas Open House brochure inside Avery Square to navigate you throughout downtown. Shoppers have a chance to win a MEGA gift basket valued at over $300. Additional Christmas Open House brochure details coming soon. Hours vary store to store
10am-4pm – Chippewa County Historical Society Model Train Displays – A must see experience for the young and old at heart during Christmas Open House! Take in operating train layouts and various toy collections displays. NEW displays this year include a logging camp and quarry. Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted. 115 Ashmun Street
10am-4pm – Alberta House Arts Center Open House – During Christmas Open House, stop in and browse the gallery over delightful treats and a FREE holiday craft – create a jacket pin from fabric and fancy buttons! 217 Ferris Street
10am-4pm – Girl Scout Troop 5170 Toy & Clothing Drive – Inside Avery Square. More information HERE
11am- 4pm – Photos with Santa – Visit with Santa at the Community of Trees inside Avery Square! Photos with Santa offered by DRJ Photography. Photo package details here
11am-4pm – Horse Powers Farms Horse Drawn Carriage Rides – Navigate your way through Ashmun Street and Portage Avenue shopping and dining destinations with an enchanting horse-drawn carriage ride in the fresh air and snow covered streets! Horse – drawn carriage stop map coming soon. Carriage rides are complimentary
11am-5pm – River of History Museum Tours – Take a step back in time inside the River of History Museum. 531 Ashmun Street
12pm-3pm – Youth Advisory Council Fundraiser – Youth Advisory Council students are lending a hand with gift wrapping inside Avery Square during Christmas Open House to raise funds for their upcoming service trip to the Dominican Republic. While you are waiting to catch a horse-drawn carriage ride, stay warm at our outdoor fire pit and make a delicious S’more! S’mores and gift wrapping are by donations. Facebook event HERE
1pm – Centerpiece Workshop – Visit Co-Ed Flowers for a hands on experience and take home an arranged holiday centerpiece. Supplies and workshop $25. 538 Ashmun Street
