January 30, 2016 – 1st Annual Downtown Winter Ice Festival
Event sponsored by The Sault Events, Sault Convention & Visitors Bureau, Downtown Sault Ste. Marie, and Lock City Home Center.
ICE WARS 6 p.m. – Join us at the corner of Portage and Ashmun at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion to watch ICE WARS! Two ice sculptors will go head to head to create works of frozen art right before your eyes! 5-7pm Hot Cocoa & Warm Cookies will be sold by Woody’s Trading Post at the Farmers Market Pavilion.
ICE SKATING -7-9 P.M. After Ice Wars, head over to the Downtown Ice Rink (behind mBank/Moloney’s) and bring your ice skates! Hang out and enjoy some refreshments. Hot Cocoa and Warm Cookies will be sold by Woody’s Trading Post.
ICE CARVINGS – You can also join us downtown throughout the day to watch as businesses compete for the best ice sculpture in Sault Ste. Marie, and see some amazing pieces of ice art being sculpted before your eyes from 9am – 3pm. Sculptures will be carved and placed all day from 9 am-7pm.
MODEL TRAIN & BARBIE DISPLAY 1-4 pm at the Chippewa County Historical Society. This is your last chance this season to see this great display. Refreshments will be provided!
WINTER FARMER’S MARKET is held inside Bayliss Public Library from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Saturday!
SATURDAY MATINEE MOVIE – Ant Man (PG-13) 1 P.M. at Bayliss Public Library.
